Live Seafood Display

Live Seafood Display Solution

Keep restaurant display tanks, supermarket seafood counters and wholesale holding tanks at a precise ±0.5 °C so live fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish stay healthy and sellable around the clock.

Live Seafood Display Solution

⚠️The Challenge

  • Live seafood spoils quickly when water temperature drifts — stress, mortality and lost margin rise the moment the tank leaves the species' comfort zone.
  • Saltwater aggressively corrodes ordinary copper or stainless heat exchangers, contaminating the water with metal ions that are toxic to fish and shellfish.
  • Display tanks run 24/7 in customer-facing spaces, so the chiller must be quiet, reliable, and sized for constant holding rather than a one-off pull-down.

🛠️Our Solution

  • A pure Grade 2 titanium heat exchanger runs in seawater without corroding or leaching metal ions, keeping the water clean for the catch.
  • A Copeland compressor and electronic control hold the set-point to ±0.5 °C, eliminating the temperature swings that stress live stock.
  • The range spans 1 HP to 5 HP, so one chiller matches a single restaurant tank, a supermarket seafood island, or a wholesale holding room.

✅Key Benefits

  • Lower mortality and longer display life for fish, shrimp, crab and shellfish.
  • Saltwater-safe titanium construction means no corrosion and no contamination.
  • Factory-direct pricing and 15-25 day lead times on standard models.

Delin's live seafood chillers are the heart of a well-run display or holding system. The chiller circulates tank water through a titanium heat exchanger, pulling heat out to hold the water at the target temperature for the species on display. Because the heat exchanger is pure titanium, it handles seawater and brine without corroding — a plain stainless or copper coil would slowly fail and poison the tank.

Sizing follows the water volume and the target temperature. A 2 HP model holds about 550 litres at 5 °C, or up to 2,500 litres at a warmer 20 °C holding temperature, while a 5 HP model covers roughly 2,200 litres at 5 °C up to 8,000 litres at 20 °C. For multi-tank setups, a 1-to-2 unit runs two independent circuits from one cabinet so two tanks can hold two different species at their own set-points.

Installation is straightforward: mount the chiller with enough airflow around the condenser, connect the tank loop, and set the target temperature. Our engineers confirm the right model and water-flow configuration for your tank geometry and stocking density before you order.
