Aquaculture Water Chiller

RAS & Farm-Scale Water Cooling for Fish Farms, Shrimp Farms, Hatcheries & Aquariums

Stable Temperature, Healthier Stock

In aquaculture, water temperature is not a comfort setting — it drives growth rate, feed conversion, dissolved oxygen, and the risk of disease. A drift of even a degree or two stresses fish, shrimp, and fry. Delin aquaculture water chillers hold water at a stable set-point with ±0.5 °C accuracy across a working range of +5 °C to +35 °C, from tropical marine shrimp and tilapia to cold-water hatchery and aquarium systems.

Why RAS and Recirculating Farms Need a Chiller

In a recirculating aquaculture system the same water is reused continuously. Pumps, biofilters and dense stocking all add heat to the loop, so even a well-insulated indoor RAS slowly warms up — especially in tropical climates or greenhouses. A chiller removes that accumulated heat and locks the loop at the set-point your species needs. Because biofilter bacteria, dissolved oxygen and appetite all depend on temperature, stable cooling directly improves survival and growth, and it lets farms run at higher, more profitable stocking density.

How an Aquaculture Water Chiller Works

A circulation pump draws water from the tank, pond loop, or RAS sump and pushes it through a heat exchanger inside the chiller. Refrigerant absorbs heat from the water and rejects it to the air through the condenser; the cooled water returns to the system. A microcomputer controller monitors the water temperature and modulates the compressor to hold the set-point continuously — day and night, through seasons and weather.

Pure Titanium: Built for Recirculating and Salt Water

Aquaculture water is chemically aggressive — especially marine and brackish systems. Copper and mild steel heat exchangers corrode in seawater and can poison sensitive stock with metal ions. Every Delin aquaculture chiller therefore uses a pure Grade 2 titanium heat exchanger. Titanium is inert in saltwater, so it lasts for years and never contaminates the water, which is why our titanium evaporators are also sold as components to farms and aquarium builders worldwide.

RAS Loops, Tanks, Ponds and Raceways

The same chiller platform serves every farm layout. In a RAS loop it cools the common sump or process water before it returns to the tanks. For hatcheries and nursery tanks it holds larvae and juvenile fish at a stable temperature through their most sensitive stages. On ponds and raceways it cools the recirculating or flow-through supply, and in public aquarium and marine systems it keeps large display volumes at tropical reef or temperate set-points. Each installation is matched to your duty: flow rate, tank circuit, and set-point are configured with your engineers.

Sizing a Farm or RAS System

Capacities run from 2.8 kW to 85 kW (1–30 HP) per machine, and large farms simply run several units in parallel to scale with production. Choosing the right size depends on system volume, stocking density, ambient temperature, and target water temperature — not just tank size. Send us your system details and our engineers will calculate the heat load and recommend the capacity, just as we do for hatcheries and RAS farms in South Africa, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

Built for Round-the-Clock Duty

An aquaculture system never stops, and neither does a Delin chiller. Commercial-grade Copeland / Emerson / Panasonic compressors are tuned for continuous operation, protection circuits guard against over-temperature and phase failure, and the anti-corrosion casing survives humid, salt-laden air. Units run on 220 V/50 Hz single phase or 380 V/50 Hz three phase (60 Hz available), and operate quietly below 55 dB for indoor hatchery environments.

Factory-Direct Aquaculture Cooling

Delin HVAC is the manufacturer, not a trading company. Our 8,000 m² factory in Foshan has produced refrigeration and titanium heat exchange equipment for export since 2002, and AquaChill Tech is its official global export brand. Order direct from the factory: MOQ is just 1 unit, standard models ship within 15–25 days, customized capacities within 25–40 days, and every chiller carries a 12-month warranty with installation, water-flow, and set-point support from our engineers.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an aquaculture water chiller used for?
An aquaculture water chiller removes heat from fish and shrimp farm water to hold a stable temperature. It is used in RAS loops, hatcheries, ponds, raceways, tanks and aquarium systems where temperature swings stress stock and slow growth.
Why does a RAS farm need precise temperature control?
In a recirculating system the same water passes through pumps, biofilters and dense stocking, so heat builds up continuously. Holding water at a stable set-point keeps biofilter bacteria efficient, improves dissolved oxygen and feeding, and reduces disease — which is why we hold accuracy to ±0.5 °C.
Can it handle saltwater for marine shrimp or fish?
Yes. The pure Grade 2 titanium heat exchanger resists seawater corrosion and never releases metal ions into the water, so it is safe for marine, brackish and freshwater systems alike.
How do I size a chiller for my farm or RAS?
Sizing depends on system volume, stocking density, ambient temperature and target water temperature. Send us your tank or pond volume, flow rate and set-point — our engineers calculate the heat load and recommend the right single unit, or a bank of parallel units for large farms.
What is your MOQ and lead time?
MOQ is 1 unit. Standard models ship within 15-25 days, and customized capacities within 25-40 days. Every machine carries a 12-month warranty.
